Featuring a gain control range of 50 dB, the RF3320 reverse-path, programmable gain amplifier (PGA) is designed for use in cable modems, set-top boxes, and pay-per-view systems. The device operates from a 4.75V to 5.25V power supply and offers a 26 dB maximum voltage gain and a minimum ­22 dB voltage gain. Its 63 dBmV maximum output power meets DOCSIS return-path standards. The device is serially programmable and output control is selectable in 1-dB steps. Other features include an operating range of 5 to 65 MHz, transient-switching compatibility with both DOCSIS and proprietary cable modem standards, a low-current shutdown mode, and differential input and output. Pricing is $3.20 each/10,000.
