Often, designers of compact wireless products find their antenna options and performance limited by size, cost and cosmetic considerations. The Splatch planar antenna provides an alternative. The device uses a proprietary grounded-line technique to deliver high performance from a tiny surface-mount element.Unlike many compact antennas, the Splatch antenna is said to be highly immune to proximity effects, making it suitable for use in hand-held applications such as remote controls, pagers and alert devices. Its stable design enables even engineers without prior RF experience to obtain excellent performance. The antenna measures 1.1" long x 0.5" wide x 0.062" tall. It exhibits a 50 ohm characteristic impedance and low VSWR. Standard and custom frequencies range from 300 MHz to 900 MHz.
