Process Technology Revs Up OC-768 Device Performance

Created for the manufacture of analog and digital ICs required by communication systems transmitting data at speeds in excess of 40 Gb/s, the company's process technology is based on an InP heterojunction bipolar transistors. The 1-µm process is being tapped to manufacture physical-layer ICs for SONET OC-768 applications and circuitry for 10 Gb/s systems that use RZ-encoded data. Succeeding generations of the process are expected to produce devices with performance levels up to 100 Gb/s. For further information, call VITESSE SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Camarillo, CA.
