Designed for applications that need remote access to the telephone network but where centrally generated resources such as ringing generation are now available, the MH88617 subscriber line interface IC (SLIC) provides a hardware programmable line and network balance impedance matching capability that can be tailored to many regions, equipment regulations and emerging standards. Programmable parameters include input impedance, network balance impedance, transmit and receive gain , and ringing output. The on-hook transmission and meter pulse capability is in line with requirements for SLICs. These features, along with power-down mode to 50 mW when internal circuits are off, make this device well-suited for long- and short-loop applications.
