The PBM39705/3 is a single-chip Analog Receive/Transmit Interface Circuit (ARTIC) targeting DSL access multiplexers (DSLAMs). A CMOS part that integrates many of the external components typically used in competing solutions, it includes a line driver, receiver, echo cancellation, termination and programmable gain controllersÑall the functions needed for the implementation of an ADSL transceiver. The device supports bit rates of 8 Mb/s downstream and 800 Kb/s upstream. Internal power dissipation is typically 0.9W during full-rate, operation in a DMT system at 100W load. Price is $3.98 each/1,000.
