Reported to be the industry's first single-chip gain/phase measurement solution for RF and IF, the AD8302 can simultaneously detect the phase and gain difference between two independent signals operating at up to 2.7 GHz. It measures amplitude difference over a dynamic range of 60 dB, scaled to provide an output of 30 mV/dB.
Phase-measurement range is up to 180° with an output scaling of 10 mV/°. Integrated elements include two wideband logarithmic amplifiers, a wideband linear multiplier/phase detector, a 1.8V reference source, and analog scaling and interface circuitry. The wireless chip operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply, spans an operational temperature range of –40°C to 85°C, and is available in a 14-lead TSSOP package priced at $15.50 each/1,000.
