Taking a bow as the first single-chip CMOS HSDPA/WEDGE transceiver for 3.5G, the SW3200 also sets new standards for size, cost, performance, and functionality. The device supports transmit and receive operation in five WCDMA bands and four EDGE, GPRS, and GSM bands. With HSDPA Category 9 capability, it enables downlink data rates up to 10.2 Mb/s and features a unique sigma-delta fractional-N synthesizer design that requires no external loop filter. Other features include a 26-MHz DCO, 2.5G DigRF-compliant baseband interface, and an analog interface for legacy WEDGE processors. Available in a 7-cm2 package, price is $7.95 each/10,000.
