Team effort abuzz about ZigBee

Tokyo, Japan and Dresden, Germany: A joint agreement inked between Renesas Technology Corp. and ZMD AG will permit use of ZMD’s RF technology in Renesas’ microcontrollers as part of the development of a 900-MHz band ZigBee chipset.

Tokyo, Japan and Dresden, Germany: A joint agreement inked between Renesas Technology Corp. and ZMD AG will permit use of ZMD’s RF technology in Renesas’ microcontrollers as part of the development of a 900-MHz band ZigBee chipset.

Expectations are the chipset will accelerate the development of various types of IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee systems. According to the two companies, completion of the chipset is slated for 2008.
