Designed for use in low-power, long-battery-life cable telephony, voice over IP (VoIP) applications, the L9500 ringing subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) connects directly to Broadcom’s customer premise equipment chips. The low-power SLIC chip provides the interface between a standard, in-home telephone set and other communications equipment, such as cable modems and residential or SOHO gateways. When combined with Broadcom’s chips, the L9500 provides the link to support enhanced telephone services over cable modem, DSL, wireless, fiber and Ethernet networks. The 3.3V chip comes standard in a 28-pin plastic leaded chip carrier package and is priced at $3.30 each/100,000.
