Well-suited for use in a wide range of products and systems, the AnyBus chip can accommodate all fieldbus communications in a product. It reportedly can do this even in systems that do not employ a microprocessor. Up to 32 bytes of data can be exchanged by the chip, either through a synchronous shift register interface or through a two-wire TTL serial interface. The device contains all of the digital and analog circuitry for the fieldbus and is pre-certified. All that is needed for setup is the fieldbus connector. In addition to fieldbus, it also supports Profibus, DeviceNet and Ethernet interfaces. For more details and pricing, call Jonas Eriksson at HMS INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS INC., Chicago, IL. (888) 826-9287.
