The shielding inconsistencies found among aluminum honeycomb air vent filters have reportedly been overcome with the development of a line of filters made using a new patented process. The process is said to deliver welded panel levels of shielding and reliability at aluminum honeycomb panel prices. Prior to the development, the shielding levels of aluminum honeycomb air vent filters could vary widely: one filter could show a 100 dB shielding level, while an identical filter could register 20 dB of shielding.
The new filters are available with two different levels of shielding: Econo-Cell low-cost air vent filters supply shielding effectiveness levels up to 90 dB at 1 GHz, while Spira-Cell filters offer higher shielding levels—the latter come in single or double panel configurations with shielding effectiveness of up to 130 dB at 1 GHz.
