Carrying a price tag that is reportedly up to 50% less than comparable components, the new MM26S range of bistable rotary solenoids can be driven in both directions with a short pulse from a bipolar drive circuit. With an optimized operating time of 2 ms and zero holding power requirements, the device provides torque up to 20 nm. With power removed, it will remain in the position last energized maximizing power efficiency. The use of sintered bronze for the housing allows both the functions of the housing and the bearings to be combined to enable reduced assembly time and costs.
