Using a “slide-to-lock” no-hardware mounting feature, the Multi-Beam XL cable assembly is said to reduce installation time by 75% compared with hardware cable assemblies. The connector snaps into a panel and can be removed without special tools. The design also saves on the cost and space of traditional mounting hardware while providing for the float required for blind-mate drawer applications. The slide-to-lock provides a ±0.030” float in the X and Y directions. Dedicated power and signal contacts are combined in a single docking type connector for power distribution. Applications are in modular power supplies, pluggable power distribution systems and fan trays used in computer, telecom and industrial equipment. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522- 6752
