London, England: Claimed as a world first, Qualcomm unveiled a chip set that offers full support for Draft 2.0 of the IEEE 802.11n standard. The AGN400 is the 4th-generation 802.11n-compliant chip set from Airgo Networks (recently acquired by Qualcomm), and it features the company’s True MIMO Gen-N technology. True MIMO Gen-N capitalises on Airgo’s innovations in multiple antenna technology to extend the effective range and bolster data throughput for consumer Wi-Fi and next-generation, wireless, digital home entertainment.

"The technologies that Airgo will bring to Qualcomm will help us to continue to deliver highperformance wireless broadband with all types of products supporting a wide range of applications," says Dr. Sanjay K. Jha, president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
