Induction-heating applications are always on the lookout for top-notch switching and conduction transistors. Such is the case with the FGL60N 100BNTD 1000-V, 60-A insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), which also offers avalanche ruggedness. It features a 130-ns switching speed and low saturation voltage (VCESAT) of 2.5 V at 60 A. There's also a built-in fast-recovery diode. The FGL60N 100BNTD IGBT comes in a standard TO-264 case. This lead-free (pb-free) component meets the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020B standard and complies with European Union requirements. It costs $4.08 each in 1000-unit quantities and is available in 12 weeks.
