A new lightweight air conditioner has been designed to cool small electronic equipment enclosures. The Thermoelectric Air Conditioner packs a 200 BTU/HR rating into a compact 8"H x 6"W footprint and is suited for cooling wireless equipment, modems, telecommunications gear, computer monitors, surveillance equipment and other electronics enclosed in small spaces. It is especially useful for outdoor enclosures such as kiosks, where the heat generated by the electronics is combined with the heat from the sun, resulting in extreme temperatures inside the enclosure. The unit is constructed to NEMA 4X standards for indoor or outdoor use and is available with cooling and heating configurations in a through-mount or flush-mount design. It includes a built-in adjustable thermostat, a self-contained condensate drip pan, an integral power supply with a polycarbonate case and nine-foot power cord and universal ac/dc power input. The 200 BTU thermoelectric model also has a stainless steel mounting flange and covers as well as a neoprene mounting gasket and stainless steel fasteners. This unit is said to deliver quiet, reliable operation with no compressors, filters or maintenance. A one-year warranty is included. EIC SOLUTIONS INC., Warminster, PA. (215) 443-5190.
