In addition to rugged construction and a stackable design for vertical-mount cards, the RME1021M series 10U, rack-mount enclosures rely on two dc impellers, operating from a separate power supply, to deliver 16.1 CFM of cooling per slot. This translates into the ability to cool up to 125W per slot. The enclosures meet MIL-STD-461 EMI radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility standards, MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, and MIL-STD-167 environmental requirements. A commercial version is also available. Other features include front and rear cover panels with honeycomb EMI air filters, mountings for two internal hard drives, thermal insulation, low-smoke wire, and a front-panel LCD for monitoring voltages, fans, and temperature. The enclosures are available with 21-slot CompactPCI, VME64x, VME, or VXS backplanes and with power ratings up to 2.4 kW. Pricing starts at $13,900 in quantity. HYBRICON CORP., Ayer, MA.
