The BC18 crystal is a direct form, fit and function replacement for the Fox FPX and Epson MA-406 crystal units. The new device is claimed to be available in within half the lead-time as the original devices. Measuring 12 x 4.73 x 3.85 mm, the BC 18 crystal is available in frequencies from 3.50000 to 30.0000 MHz in the fundamental mode and from 30.000 to 70.000 MHz in the third overtone. Standard frequency tolerance is ±50 ppm at 25°C and frequency stability is -50 ppm from -20°C to 70°C. Versions with a ±30 ppm tolerance and stability are also available, as well as with an extended temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The crystals are shipped on tape-and-reel packages in quantities of 1000 per reel, with typical lead times of eight to 10 weeks.
