By dissipating up to 1 W in a 1625 package size, Vishay Precision Group’s new ultra-high-precision, Z-Foil, surface-mount current-sensing resistor enables designers to use a single device to measure larger currents than previously possible. The VCS1625ZP combines a power rating of 1 W at 70°C and a TCR of ±0.2 ppm/°C typical from −55 to +125°C (+25°C). The device offers tolerances to ±0.2% (0.1% and 0.05% available) and a four-terminal Kelvin configuration to increase accuracy for high-power applications. Specs include a power coefficient (ΔR due to self-heating) of 5 ppm at rated power, a thermal stabilization time of <1 ns (nominal value achieved within 10 ppm of steady-state value), and a resistance range from 0.3 to 10 Ω. Rise time is 1.0 ns with effectively no ringing, and there’s a short time overload of <0.005% (50 ppm). The device withstands electrostatic discharge to at least 25 kV. Load-life stability is 0.015% at +70°C for 2000 hours at rated power.VISHAY PRECISION GROUP INC.
