Enclosures Offer Sleek Homes For Dense Storage Systems

Featuring brushed aluminum bezels that can be customized with color bands or produced in designer colors, the Fortra Series of enclosures is said to provide the industry's highest storage capacity. Spanning desktop, tower and rack-mount styles for hard-drive and tape backup applications, the storage enclosures present a common look across the product line for use in front offices, back offices or studios. The enclosures support Fibre Channel, LVD (Ultra2), and single-ended interfaces with SCA drives.Pedestal models can hold up to 20 drive bays, while rack-mount units can have as many as 10. All units are designed for quick, easy drive swapping, and hot-swap drive canisters are interchangeable between all models. And in addition to supporting hot-swappable drives and featuring redundant power supplies, Fortra enclosures also employ dual low-power-consuming centrifugal blower units for improved cooling. There are 13 size and format configurations currently available in the Fortra series.
