Fashioned for vehicle crash, crush zone, and impact testing, the model 7285 piezo-resistive accelerometer weighs less than 1g and provides a 2-kg, full-scale range. The component employs a high-output, micro-machined, monolithic sensing element with integrated mechanical stops. Specifying a frequency-response range from 0 Hz to 4 kHz and extending down to dc, it is suitable for measuring long-duration transient shocks. The adhesive-mount accelerometer also features a static acceleration limit of 10 kg, an operating temperature range from 0ºF to +150ºF, and a resonant frequency in excess of 20 kHz.
