Serving to protect components and I/O data lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD) strikes, the 11-member PACDN0xx family packs anywhere from two to 18 transient voltage suppressors in a surface-mount package, with the suppressors coming in three different styles: zener diodes; low-capacitance diodes; and a combination of zeners and diodes. The PACDN027/42/43/44/46 zener diodes are designed to exceed IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 specs and can dissipate ESD strikes of up to 20 kV contact discharge. The PACDN002/04/06/07 low-cap (8 kV of IEC spec protection and can be used on high-speed data lines where minimal signal loading is a factor. And the PACDN016/17 combination zener and diode suppressors afford up to 15 kV of protection with as little as 3 pF of capacitance loading. Depending on device, the transient suppressors come housed in a SOT, TSSOP, QSOP or MSOP package.
