Designed for harsh environments, fiber-optic connectors added to the PHDTM multi-channel optical system make it suitable for use in military, avionics and industrial applications. The system boasts of having the lowest insertion loss of any multi-channel fiber optic connector currently available and features a scalable design that can be modified for a broad range of applications. Additions include the environmentally sealed PHD 38999 for military and avionics applications and the Poseidon TM PHD for industrial and other commercial applications. The PHD 38999 offers several metallic shell material options, such as nickel-plated aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys. The Poseidon PHD system provides a sealed, ergonomic multi-channel connector and is available in composite plastic or metallic shell materials. Both are available with optical channel counts ranging from one to 72 channels, in shell sizes from 11 to 25, and in either jam-nut or flange mount configurations.
