The XF2M flexible printed circuit (FPC) connector employs a unique rear-locking design that is reportedly more reliable and secure than front locking connectors. It uses a double-sided contact structure to reduce component size by 27%, yielding a shorter body—29.1 mm for the 50-pin connector—that is 5.9 mm deep with the slider closed. Applicable FPC thickness is 0.3 mm. Available in an environmentally-friendly, lead-free solder model as a standard product, connectors come in pin formats from 10 to 50 pins and are sold in reels of 1,500 each. List prices range from $0.86 each for 10-pin connectors to $2.31 for 50-pin connectors. For further information, contact OMRON ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, Schaumburg, IL. (847) 882-2288.
