Heat Exchangers Use Impingement Cooling Technique

May 1, 2000
Employing an efficient impingement cooling method, the HXi Series of high-power heat exchangers embraces three models (HXi 500, HXi 1000 and HXi 1500) that can remove 500, 1000 and 1500 watts of heat, respectively. Higher-powered units are in

Employing an efficient impingement cooling method, the HXi Series of high-power heat exchangers embraces three models (HXi 500, HXi 1000 and HXi 1500) that can remove 500, 1000 and 1500 watts of heat, respectively. Higher-powered units are in prototype stage. The device's impingement cooling works through the forcing of air against a folded fin core. The core absorbs heat from the hot cabinet air and transfers it to the cool ambient air while maintaining cabinet integrity for both indoor and outdoor applications. Fan power requirements are minimized, through reduced flow length and pressure drop.
