Rated at 1 to 3 W, the SM series of surface-mount wirewound resistors delivers resistance values from 0.01 Ω to 3 kΩ in tolerances from 0.1% to 5%. The resistors offer a standard temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of ±100 to ±20 ppm/°C. Applications include power supplies, automotive, computer, telecom, and consumer products. All-welded construction with tinned copper terminals provide flex termination for absorbing thermal expansion. The SM series is available in inductive and noninductive styles. The wirewound resistors typically cost between $0.20 and $0.30 each.
