This ultra-compact, electronic magnetic sensor is specifically designed for round keyway applications requiring a diminutive configuration. The 9B sensor is suited for use in sensing magnetic fields in cylinders or actuators that necessitate a very short stroke. It uses a tiny remote sensing device to relay the signal back to a PLC or PC. The sensor employs a digital (on/off) proximity switch to indicate the location of the piston in a cylinder. The standard 9B sensor has a diameter of 3.8 mm, allowing it to fit into a 4-mm round keyway slot on a cylinder or actuator. Completely molded in engineered polymers, the 9B provides protection for embedded electronics and is designed to meet NEMA 4 / IP 65 standards—the environmental standards cover corrosion resistance and washdown applications. The sensor can operate from a 6 to 24 Vdc supply and over operating temperatures of from -20° to +80°C.
