A new intrinsically safe, programmable liquid level sensor has been designed for continuous level monitoring in a variety of liquid and tank designs. The EZ-track R16 liquid level sensor is a two-wire loop powered sensor. It uses magnetostrictive technology to monitor the position of a magnetic float along the active stroke of the sensing tube. The information is then converted into a configurable 4 mA to 20 mA output. Rated IP 68, the sensor comes in either a rigid stainless steel housing or a flexible PVDF design. Probe lengths vary between 20" and 288". The stainless steel version is available with an optional food grade or 3A rated sanitary finish for use in an array of food service, dairy and beverage applications. A variety of floats, tri-clamp fittings and accessories are available to fit virtually any application requirements. All electronics for the sensor are incorporated within the 5/8" sensing rod, eliminating the need for an electronics enclosure at the top. The sensor has a resolution of 0.02" of full scale, and an accuracy of 0.1% over the full 4 mA to 20 mA span. When used with the standard four-pin minifast quick disconnect, this tool offers greater mounting options and is said to have a faster, more reliable installation. TURCK INC., Minneapolis, MN.
