The next-generation MEMS-based P992/P993 low-range differential pressure sensors from Kavlico are well-suited for a variety of HVAC applications. Typical uses include variable air volume systems, filter pressure monitoring, duct airflow, static pressure monitoring, gaseous leak detection, and pneumatic controls, as well as medical equipment. Running on a regulated 5-V dc power supply, the sensors provide an amplified linear output, proportional to pressure, of 0.25 to 4.0 V dc.

The sensors are temperature-compensated and have excellent EMI/RFI and ESD protection. They come in pressure ranges of ±1 in. H2O through 10 in. H2O. The devices exhibit no position sensitivity. Also, they feature low power consumption and have superior output signal stability. They can be specified with a frequency output and have multiple mounting-configuration options. And, they comply with the European Union’s Restrictions on Hazardous Substances. The P992 replaces existing Kavlico models (P582, P592, P593, P792, and P892) and can be ordered in any configuration to match their footprints. The P993 is specifically configured for control systems that are integrated into damper actuators.
