For applications with critical space limitations, the CD 375 series LVDT, contactless position sensors measure just 0.375" in diameter. Specified as having a lightweight, low-mass core, they target applications with high dynamic response requirements. The series offers full-scale measurement ranges from ±0.025" to ±2" and an operational temperature range from -55°C to +105°C. The tiny sensors are also said to have a 50% larger core-to-bore radial clearance, in the order of 0.012", than similar sized components. Other features include a repeatability error specification of less than 0.01% FSO and a maximum linearity error of ±0.25% FRO. In epoxy encapsulated, stainless-steel housings, the sensors meet IEC standard IP-61. In addition to optional Teflon bore liners and metric threaded cores, custom units can be provided. Pricing begins at $101 each. MACROSENSORS, Penn-sauken, NJ. (856) 662-8000.
