Designed to improve safety and comfort functions in automobiles, the company's latest 24-GHz, ultra wide band (UWB) short-range radar sensors for driver-assistance systems stand up to inclement weather and harsh environmental conditions. With a range of 1.8m, they detect small objects in front of large objects and measure direction of arrival in parking applications. For pre-crash sensing, the components scan out up to 30m, providing advanced warning to arm airbags, pre-tension seat restraints, or other injury-mitigation strategies. Additionally, the sensors can detect and distinguish between objects as close as 15 cm from each other.
