Freeing up space in portable designs, the LIS344AL logs in as a cost-sensitive MEMS-based accelerometer sporting an ultra-compact 4 mm x 4 mm x 1.5 mm footprint. Its plastic-package houses a robust three-axis MEMS sensor and a CMOS interface chip that provides tilting and motion information, independent of the device's orientation. The package can withstand shock levels up to 10,000g and the device offers a full-scale output range of ±3.5g. Additionally, a self-test function allows users to verify both the mechanical and electrical parts of the device. Available now, pricing is $1.40 each in large volumes.
