Measuring approximately 20 mm x 10 mm x 12 mm, the C5 series open-frame linear solenoids are available in configurations that include magnetic latching rated for forces up to 3 lbs. and a standard on/off version rated for use with forces in excess of 3.5 lbs. The magnetic latching version is designed for very low duty cycle applications where the solenoid needs to remain in the energized position for extended periods of time. In addition to their small size, the components are said to consume little power, making them viable candidates for battery-powered designs.
