Module Pairs Linear And Angular Motion Sensing
The LSM320HAY30 integrates a three-axis digital accelerometer with a two-axis analog gyroscope in a single module, a feat that allegedly improves performance, boosts reliability, reduces size, and shrinks cost. The device maintains stability over a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C and with a negligible level of output noise. Other features include a user-selectable acceleration range of ±2g/±4g/±8g, an angular-rate detection from 30 to 6,000 dps along the pitch and yaw axes, a supply voltage in the range of 2.7V to 3.6V, and built-in self-test. Samples of ST’s LSM320HAY30 multi-axis motion sensor module are available now, with mass production coming in this quarter. Unit pricing is $3.30 each/50,000. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA.
