Reported as the market’s first true monolithic couplers, the IsoLoop IL6xx passive-input couplers also debut as the first to be available in die form. Die size for single-channel couplers is less than 0.8 square millimeters. The IL610-1 single-channel and IL611-1 dual-channel components come in 3 mm x 3 mm MSOP8 packages, said to make them the smallest packaged couplers to date. Eight-pin PDIP and SOIC packages are also available. Other features include a minimum data rate of 40 Mb/s, typical propagation delay of 20 ns, pulse width distortion of 7 ns, and a propagation delay skew of 10 ns. Typical quiescent currents are 1.4 mA at 3.3V and 2.5 mA at 5V with a maximum input threshold of 10 mA. Additionally, the couplers exhibit an isolation voltage of 2.5 kV&subRMS; for one minute, a typical common-mode rejection of 20 kV/ms, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C with no derating. Prices for single- and dual-channel couplers start at $1.35 and $1.98 each/1,000, respectively. For more details, contact Anthony Leali at NVE CORP., Eden Prairie, MN. (952) 829-9217.
