With a maximum glass length of just 5 mm, the RI-80 reed switch is claimed to be the worldÕs smallest such device, helping to pave the way for its use in size-restricted sensing applications in pacemakers, hearing aids and other medical electronics and in numerous industrial and consumer products, such as laptops, PDAs, mobile phones, and other battery-powered products. And, because of its 5W power rating, the reed switch is also well-suited for use in hi-reliability, small automatic test equipment. The RI-80 is priced according to configuration and quantity, with samples costing $1 each. Delivery times run from four to eight weeks. COTO TECHNOLOGY, Providence, RI. (401) 943-2686.
