The RX-5412SF real-time clock module comes equipped with a time-stamp function for recording and storing times and dates of abnormal events such as system errors and warning signals. Its time-stamp function detects and records signals generated when an error or emergency event occurs. The module provides four input pins and can record the date and time along with identifying information for each pin. Other features include a general-purpose memory, 256-byte SRAM chip that can be used as a time-stamp memory, a watchdog timer, a general-purpose timer, and power switching. Operating from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply, power consumption is 0.5 ?A in standby. Expected in the first half of 2009, the RX-5412SF module will be available in a 24-pin SSOP measuring 10.2 mm x 5.4 mm x 2 mm. EPSON ELECTRONICS AMERICA INC., El Segundo, CA. (800) 249-7730.
