With the aid of MEMS technology, the D6F sensor is capable of detecting gas flow in either direction. This unique feature is the result of sandwiching a heater between two thermopiles. Claiming performance levels beyond those of other sensor types, the new component can detect flow velocities as low as 0.005 m/s. It is available in an array of packages to accommodate natural or LP gas flow measurement, HVAC system air flow, medical applications, and hydrogen flow. Typical applications for the sensor include fuel cells, chemical test chambers, boilers, and respiration monitors. For price, call OMRON ELECTRONICS LLC, Schaumberg, IL. (800) 556-6766.
