Built-in reliability and long life in the Model 601-1045 industrial position sensor are exemplified by a lifetime rating of more than 5 million operating cycles with a radial load up to 200 grams applied to the shaft. The device is a self-contained package that provides an analog electrical output of greater than 360° with no dead band. No external interface electronics are needed.
The 5 Vdc low-current supply and absolute positioning output are said to make the sensor a cost-effective alternative to encoders. Other key features include built-in reverse polarity protection, fast angular response of 50 ms, sealing to IP54, and low power consumption. The unit measures 44 x 33 x 20 mm deep and weighs 30 grams.
