CUI recently unveiled a family of low-profile speakers that range from 10 mm to 20 mm in diameter with depths as low as 2.9 mm. Mylar cones help increase durability in the CDM series. Other features include spring contacts and metal frames. Sound-pressure levels range from 72 dB up to 78 dB at one meter. Minimal input power—0.2 W to 0.5 W—is needed to drive the speakers. All models are RoHS-compliant. The CDM series will find homes in a multitude of applications that require a low-profile design, particularly in the consumer electronics and mobile equipment spaces.
