Capable of providing more than 400 million frequencies between 10 and 220 MHz, Model M2230 frequency synthesizers are designed to develop precise software-programmable frequencies for analytical instruments, ATE and self-test applications. Their output frequency F2 is phase locked to a built-in crystal stabilized reference F1. Alternatively, the output frequency can be locked to external reference signals. The relationship between output and reference frequencies is determined by user-specified values of N and R. The values of N and R are calculated and plugged in to the synthesizer by software programs for Windows PCs supplied with the synthesizer. The user interface leads the user through the steps needed to calculate the N and R values for any output frequency. Dimensions for the through-hole DIL package is 0.8" x 0.5" x 0.2". Packages are hermetically sealed with stainless-steel cover.
