Providing a reliable alternative to high-power thick-film resistive technology, a thin-film resistor series is available that provides high power ratings and is impervious to sulfur contamination. Designated the RNCP Series, the resistor provides all the advantages of thin-film technology including high power handling, high stability, and low noise. The RNCP Series’ thin-film technology and anti-sulfur properties bridge the gap between reliable high-performance resistors and low-cost devices. The series is suitable for a broad range of applications and end products requiring high power and long-term reliability in a low profile chip resistor. The devices are suited for all types of regulated and unregulated AC-DC adapters (2.5 W to 15 W) including interchangeable clip, wall mount and desktop versions. Featuring absolute tolerances to 1% and a TCR of 100ppm/°C, the RNCP Series is available in 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 chip sizes, with power ratings from 0.1 W to 0.5 W and maximum working voltages from 50 V to 200 V. The RNCP Series is available on standard 7-in. reels. Pricing varies with chip size, tolerance, and resistance value and ranges from around $1.00 to $10 per thousand in full reel quantities.
