Taking a unique approach to touch-pad design, the Hidden Touch Surface (HTS) devices are designed to operate through non-conductive materials. They are very thin (0.062" thick) and weigh less than 0.5 oz. Unlike other touch-pad surfaces, HTS can be completely hidden and work through solid surfaces. It is a two-part system, consisting of a flexible printed sensor array (FPSA) and a rigid PCB controller assembly. The technology also claims to eliminate the need for a bezel opening in an enclosure and is easily installed using the pressure-sensitive adhesive material on the FPSA. The HTS can be configured to utilize either USB or PS/2 signals. Software is available for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 for activating advanced features such as scrolling and zooming.
