Groomed for use in extreme environments, the In-Sight 5400S stainless steel vision sensor meets IEC specifications for shock and vibration and achieves an IP68/NEMA 6P rating that stands up to chemical wash down and submersion. The component is viable for sorting objects, detecting proper fill levels, inspecting labels, caps, and safety seals, verifying label text, dates, and lot codes, reading linear and 2D codes, and counting. Like other 5000 series sensors, the 5400S includes a library of vision software, Ethernet communications, and In-Sight Explorer software. PatMax, a standard for feature and object location, is available as an option. For more details, call COGNEX CORP., Natick, MA. (877) 264-6391.
