Claiming impressive phase-noise performance, the company's yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) oscillators provide large tunable bandwidths in comparison to dielectric resonator oscillators. They are available in two configurations, Micro-YIG and Mini-YIG, to address a range of packaging and operating requirements. Both can operate in an unlocked, free-running mode, providing phase noise better than -105 dBc/Hz at 10-kHz offset, and -128 dBc/Hz at 100-kHz offset. The oscillators can also combine with phase-lock loop circuitry to form full synthesizer circuits. The Mini-YIG features a tunable bandwidth of ±1 GHz, frequency output from 3 to 11 GHz, +8.5V bias at 100 mA, and a square SMA package. The Micro-YIG features a tunable ±450-MHz bandwidth, frequency output range from 3 to 10 GHz, +8.5V bias at 70 mA, and a circular SMA package.
