32-Bit MCUs Address Cost-Sensitive Applications

March 11, 2010
the STM32 Value Line leverages the advantages of the STM32's 32-bit industry-standard core into applications served by lower-performing devices that lock developers into proprietary processor architectures

Described as ultra low-cost 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), the STM32 Value Line leverages the advantages of the STM32's 32-bit industry-standard core into applications served by lower-performing devices that lock developers into proprietary processor architectures. Features embedded in the STM32 Value Line include up to 12 16-bit timers including a PWM timer for motor-control applications, as many as 26 timer channels, package options providing up to 100 pins, and a 12-bit high-speed ADC. Free software support includes a complete three-phase motor-control library and VDE-certified libraries. Prices range from $0.85 each/10,000 for 16-KB devices in 48-pin LQFP48 packages to $1.44 each/10,000 for 64-KB devices in 64-pin LQFP64 packages. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
