Enlarging the STM32 flash MCU family are devices featuring embedded flash at 90 nm process technology and allegedly the industry’s first Adaptive Real-Time (ART) memory accelerator optimized for the STM32’s ARM Cortex-M3 processor. With the ART accelerator, the CPU can now operate at speeds up to 120 MHz without waiting, thereby increasing overall system speed and efficiency. To release the processor’s full 150 DMIPS performance at this frequency, the accelerator implements an instruction pre-fetch queue and branch cache, enabling program execution from flash at speeds up to 120 MHz with zero wait states.
