The WM8580 and WM8581 multi-channel analog-signal processors combine the functions of up to six separate components, providing a flexible system for routing and converting multiple audio paths and formats. The devices are based on a multi-channel audio CODEC suitable for 5.1 and 7.1 outputs or for providing outputs such as speaker, line out, headphone, and auxiliary. Both devices integrate a 2-channel ADC, but on the DAC side, the WM8580 integrates a 6-channel DAC, while theWM8581 integrates an 8-channel DAC. Shared features include a 4:1 S/PDIF transceiver and a second audio interface for signal routing. Both the WM8580 and the WM8581 are now available for sampling in 48-pin TQFP packages.
