A more usable, general-purpose family of 2.5V logic devices is now available with the expansion of the firm's VCX portfolio of devices. While optimized for 2.5V performance, the logic devices offer multiple voltage compatibility of 3.6V, 2.5V and next-generation 1.8V, as well as now providing bushold functions on 16-bit devices. Devices in the VCX family are said to be ideal for high-performance servers, workstations and other computing systems, as well as DIMM modules, and high-speed graphics and networking applications. The 16-bit devices are available with and without bushold on the data pins. The bushold option provides added design flexibility and improves system reliability by maintaining a valid logic state on an unloaded input, eliminating the need for external conditioning pull-up or pull-down resistors to prevent floating inputs. Pricing in TSSOP and SOIC packaging is $1.49 each/1000.
