The stereo A/D converter and stereo D/A converter contained within the AK4524 CODEC make it a candidate for use in high-end audio systems. The 96-kHz, 24-bit stereo CODEC is based on Asahi Kasei Microsystems' proprietary dual-bit and multi-bit delta-sigma technologies. The DAC achieves an outstanding 110-dB dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio. The ADC has a 100-dB dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio at its 96-kHz sampling rate.
